Recently, several critical Xen hypervisor vulnerabilities have been discovered that affect the servers on which the Appboy Dashboard and REST APIs reside. On Tuesday, March 3rd from 1am until 5am ET, Appboy will be working with our server provider, Rackspace, to apply the security patches and reboot the physical host machines.
As we have multiple, redundant cloud hosts for our dashboard and REST APIs, we do not believe that there will be any impact to customers, but nonetheless wanted to give notice of how Appboy is responding to the newly discovered Xen hypervisor vulnerabilities which affect Rackspace, Amazon, and other cloud hosting providers.
Data collection from devices, data processing, and outbound messaging are not affected at all by this security update, as Appboy uses physical servers for those systems. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to support@appboy.com.
